    The Carphone Warehouse Group PLC (CPW), known as The Carphone Warehouse, is Europe's largest independent mobile phone retailer, with over 1,700 stores across Europe, though they don't actually carry "car phones" anymore. They are based in the United Kingdom. Outside the UK and the Republic of Ireland, the retailer is named The Phone House.

    The company was co-founded (with David Ross) in 1989 by current CEO Charles Dunstone from £6,000 savings. The 2006/07 Annual Report reported revenues have reached almost 4 billion pounds sterling (£3,991.5m).
